As part of OnLive’s (now just onlive) massive planned update to the service, many users may have noticed a subtle update to the dashboard UI. Only a few elements have been altered, but this looks to be the start of the wider change.
The parts that we can see however feature a much cleaner look than the rounded corners and orange accents of old. Layout wise though, not much has changed, but with this being a minor update, we could expect to see a lot more.
A welcome feature – in my opinion – is an easier to see spectator indicator. Like before, you can see how many people are watching you play, and see how people are rating your gameplay at a glance.
Along with a few menu alterations, users get a glimpse of the new onlive logo used for the first time on the service. With the rest of the various pages and menus still using the old logo however, it might be a bit confusing for some.
Reception of this new appearance among the onliveHQ community is mixed so far. Some people (like me) love the clean looks and blocky, flat colours. Others prefer onlive’s old UI style. It is clear however that this is not the final product. The rest of the service will need the same treatment, and we’re sure some more tweaks are in the pipeline.
